Overall, I am really pleased with how our capstone turned out. I think that we worked well as a group and were able to get things done for the weebly and designing our bottle. The wait for prototypes wasn't ideal, but having the finished and manufactured product was nice, and I'm glad that we were able to get it all done within the given time frame. It was really cool to follow the whole design process and see an idea that Noah had come to life in a working prototype.
My recommendation to future students would be to not procrastinate and to make sure that everything is done by the deadline Ms. Z sets (or close to it). It does feel like you have plenty of time to waste because the project spans such a long time frame, but all that time really does matter in long run and it'll be very difficult to catch up if you do fall behind. Also, keep up to date on the notebook because its basically impossible to catch up on that.
Noah's Reflection:
Overall I liked our design, probably because I came up with it on inventor but I will admit there are flaws. The lid could have been better engineered there was not enough leverage to take on and off without a bit of work but once we did the leak patching the lid was fully functional. I was happy with our prototypes from Wallops and it was nice to get them so quickly since we had to play catch-up a little bit. I loved the final prototypes and they embodies everything that we envisioned. Truly following the design process for a real idea of our was interesting to see. I also like that we got our idea from the community and improved and put our own touches on it. This would have been the perfect project if we had been up to date the whole time we had to rush testing prototype analysis and engineering notebook documentation due to a wasted month of waiting in December so if we would have stayed on top of it I would have been less stressful but I am perfectly content with our final grade and our Double-Take idea.
